A Brief summary of Iranian Enterprise Institute (IEI) activities in 2007

In the past year IEI has participated in numerous conferences and spoke about the current situation in Iran. These are some of the conferences that IEI participated.

IEI at "Democracy & Security Conference," June 5-6, 2007, Prague

Political dissidents, former political prisoners from 17 different countries, along with some current and former world leaders gathered at
"Democracy & Security Conference" in Prague.

The conference was designed to explore the linkage between the promotion of democracy and the international security.

President Bush and his administration were the special guests of this conference. IEI was the only Iranian group invited to this conference, and Amir A. Fakhravar, the President of IEI was the only Iranian speaker at the conference.

Fakhravar spoke in a panel with Vaclav Havel, Jose Marie Aznar, Natan Sharansky and dissidents from Cuba, Syria, and Sudan.

 

IEI at DePaul University in Chicago on "War with Iran"
October 22, 2007

IEI took part in "Islamo-Fascist Awareness Week," one of the largest campaigns in the US history on college campuses against Islam fascism and terrorism. The event was hosted by David Horowitz Freedom Foundation.
Amir A. Fakhravar and Robert Spencer, prolific writer and Professor Scott Hibbard were the speakers on the panel.

A large crowd of students attended this conference and asked many questions on whether US was going to launch a war with Iran.

"I don't want war, No body wants war," said Fakhravar to the students at DePaul University.

He added, "Especially when you speak about a beautiful country like Iran with a rich civilization on one hand and a phenomenal country like the US on the other hand with its technological advancements with great people, you can't possibly think about war."

Nicholas G. Hahn, President of De Paul Conservative Alliance has been in touch with IEI for the future cooperation.

IEI briefed a group of journalist in London in a press conference on the fraudulent elections that took place in Islamic Republic. The information provided to IEI was collected by a group of professional journalist who work with IEI inside Iran.

IEI spoke about the important role of the international media in Iran to assist the Iranians to better understand the world politics, democracy, and the social, economic, and the political situation in Iran.

A discussion on how the American college campuses can exchange ideas with the Iranian students in Iran.

IEI at "Secular Islam Summit" in Florida, February 2007

This conference focused on separation of church and state. IEI discussed the importance role of religion especially in the Middle East.

 

IEI Upcoming Events:


Amir Abbas Fakhravar, the President of IEI will receive the "Annie Taylor Journalism Award" at the Restoration Weekend in Palm Beach Florida on November 15-18, 2007.

IEI is invited to attend a conference on "Understanding Iran's threat"
December 2, 2007 in Palm Beach Florida.
Amir A. Fakhravar will be on a panel with James Woolsey,
Rep. Ron Klein (D), Philippe Vinogradoff, Consul General of France in Florida and other prominent guests.


IEI is invited to an important conference in Rome, Italy on about "Democracy in Islamic World" December 10-11, 2007
Prominent figures such as Professor Bernard Lewis and Natan Sharansky will be at this conference.


IEI will be in France to meet with French officials and participate in a French University event in December 2007.

IEI will meet with directors of "Confederation of Iranian Students" in different parts of Europe to review the past year activities and plan for 2008 events from December 15-January 6, 2008.
